Designed as a series of Vacation Homes for Tomato Projects, this ongoing collaboration addresses the new concept of holiday rental homes in the chaotic and charming city of Saigon, Vietnam. Located strategically in central District 1, all of the homes are set in modernist vernacular buildings, characteristic of pre-war Saigon era, giving the guests the chance to experience living like a local, but with the comforts of contemporary living. Constructing with a modest budget, we were forced to think out of the box and to use ingenious methods and rugged, low maintenance materials to create a sanctuary from the bustling city that guests would feel most comfortable in.
